WHAT MAKES CBA DIFFERENT?
At CBA, we use basketball as a tool, not the end goal. Our difference lies in our holistic approach to Gospel ministry, merging faith, community outreach and sports to create lasting change.
LOCATION
we are in the slums, the population is high, the needy are numerous, need for hope is evident.
LIMELIGHT
Gospel ministry using sports, not a sports ministry.
LOVE
relational, not just a program.
LOCAL CHURCH
intentional on having converts join a healthy church (meaningful members).
LABORER
training & equipping Gospel workers to be laborers for the nations!
How We Do This
Our journey with each young person follows a proven five-step process, designed to build their, faith, leadership potential and skill.

1. Engage
We start by meeting youth where they are—on the basketball court. We use friendly games and training sessions to build trust and create a positive environment.
-
Objective: Build relationships that go beyond sports
-
Goal: Friendship
-
Focus: Relationships
2. Evangelize
Once a relationship is formed, we share the Gospel message. We hold Bible studies and spiritual talks, inviting youth to learn about and accept Christ.
-
Objective: Clearly and thoroughly expose players to the Gospel of Jesus Christ and call them to respond
-
Goal: Gather new disciples
-
Focus: Preaching the Gospel
3. Establish
We help new believers grow in their faith. Through mentorship and discipleship, we ground them in the foundational truths of the Bible and teach them how to live a Christ-centered life.
-
Objective: Firmly ground young believers in the basic doctrines and skills of the Christian life so as to become Self-feeders
-
Goal: Self-feeder
-
Focus: Teaching
4. Equip
Our goal is to turn followers into leaders. We provide training and resources that equip our youth to share their faith and mentor others in their own communities.
-
Objective: Train established believers to reproduce themselves in the lives of other players
-
Goal: Laborer
-
Focus: Training
5. Export
We send our equipped leaders back into the community as ambassadors for change. They become agents of positive transformation, using their leadership skills to help their peers and neighbors.
-
Objective: Prepare those nearing a life transition from laboring in CBA to God’s unique call on their Lives
-
Goal: Mobilized leader
-
Focus: Coaching
